What Do We Believe?

Our Core Values

UALC exists for God and for the people he loves – those already here and those he will bring us into contact with. We celebrate vital worship, we value Bible-based teaching, and we share in vibrant programs and events. But most of all we seek to live as Jesus lived and do the things that Jesus taught us. We pray for our hearts to come alive with the Holy Spirit, and that we will have a passion for sharing Jesus with others. And we strive to connect with the communities and cultures in which God has placed us. Download the full version of Our Core Values: What We Believe statement.

What Worship Means

We are made for, and even commanded to, delight in God: "Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4).
Worship is giving to God the honor and praise that he deserves. And true worshipers are what he desires: "Yet a time is coming and now has come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks" (John 4:23).
We are created for God's glory and we are called to live for his glory. When God is our treasure, delight, and satisfaction, then he is honored and glorified. So the command to delight in him, to worship him, is both for our good and for his glory.

The community of UALC is people who desire to wholeheartedly respond in adoration to our great, good God.
