New Member Event

The Pathway to Membership at UALC

We welcome new members!

Becoming a member is a simple process at UALC but we believe it's important to get connected into the church.

Step One: A Closer Look

Do you want to know more about UALC, meet some of the staff, and ask questions? A Closer Look is for you, as a regular attender or guest. You are invited to join us for Step One in the New Member Process. Come for a casual time, meet others, enjoy refreshments, and learn about Upper Arlington Lutheran Church. Childcare is available for children 5 and under. Join us Monday, Nov. 5, 6:30-8:00 pm at Mill Run. Register here. Contact Judy Webb,, 614-451-3736, ext. 4658.

Step Two: New Member Event

During this event, hear more about UALC, and especially about ministries and connection opportunities. This Saturday morning event is held a few times per year, on Saturdays and includes brunch. Offered at various times during the year. The next event will be announced soon. Contact Judy Webb,, 614-451-3736, ext. 4658.
We believe it is very important to find a small group, participate in service, and join a ministry to connect with others. We do life together as we build relationships with one another and with Jesus. All who attend are encouraged to find the right connection for them.
If after attending A Closer Look and the New Member Event, you want to join our fellowship of believers, we will receive you as a member at the Event in a brief service.

Step Three: After Membership

After receiving membership, you will get connected in the following ways over the next 12 months:
  1. Attend an Alpha (a nine-session course)
  2. Participate in Discover Your Spiritual Gifts, a four-session class (Both Alpha and Discover are short-term groups that give members the chance to meet more members and to experience small group life. They are offered throughout the year)
  3. Join a small group (short-term Connect and Grow Groups are offered during the year)
