Congregational Meeting

Members are invited to attend the Congregational Meeting, 12:00 pm, Sunday, Sept. 24, at Mill Run. On the agenda will be the approval of the 2018 budget. We will also be celebrating David White’s ordination with lunch before the meeting. Childcare is available. Discussion Forums will be held that morning: Lytham Road, 10:00 am and Mill Run, 11:00 am. 
 

David White Called as Pastor

We are excited to announce the congregation unanimously voted to call and ordain David White as a Pastor of UALC. David’s ordination service date has changed to Saturday, September 9 at 5:00 pm at Lytham Road. Please join us for a celebratory lunch at the Congregational Meeting on September 24, 12:00 pm at Mill Run. 
 

Ministry Time 101

IFI Bible Study and Training 

Support the International Friendships (IFI) Friday night Bible study by providing and serving dinner. This is a great small group activity and no training is required. Some IFI volunteer opportunities require training. Please plan to attend one of the upcoming training sessions. Training on Mondays, Sept. 11 or Oct. 16, 6:30-9:30 pm, Mill Run. Building Relationships with Muslims: Without Borders Women's Conference and Men's Track – Sept. 29-30 

At Mill Run, we're hosting separate two-day events for women and men who seek to break down walls of mutual suspicion and prejudice, and to better understand and engage Muslims, whether they live across the street or across the ocean, presented by Crescent Project. The conference for women includes teachings, workshops, and testimonies that will equip you to comfortably build new friendships with Muslim women and sensitively share your faith. In the Men's Track, discover the "Why" and "How To" of sharing with Muslim neighbors, friends and co-workers. Find dates/times, cost, and registration for both at ualc.org/adults. Radically Refreshing Relationships 

Direct, open, honest Christian relationships are your key to making life, ministry, family, and friendships work like never before. Join us for two Equipping Ministries classes; Listening for Heaven’s Sake and Speaking the Truth in Love. Each class is five weeks, $12.50 per class. Man to Man Launches Fall Season 

Join M2M for breakfast as we hear from two Christian leaders, John Rue, former pastor and currently with Built to Lead Christian executive coaching, and local business leader Sam Koon. Saturday, Sept. 9, 8:00-9:30 am, Mill Run. Fee is $5. Register at ualc.org/men.
 

Alpha - New Sessions 

Do you know people who suffer emptiness be- cause they do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ? Let Alpha help your friends and loved ones’ search for answers. Sessions include meals, teachings and small group discussions. Free. Evening: Mondays, Sept. 18-Nov. 20, 6:15 pm, Mill Run. Daytime: Wednesdays, Sept. 13-Nov. 15, 10:00 am, Lytham Road. Momming is Hard! 

And you are not alone. Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) is a Christian organization that encourages relationships, offers practical help, and provides support among moms of young children. We also need volunteers to spend time with the kids while their moms meet. First and third Tuesday of every month, Sept. 19-May 15, 9:00-11:15 am, Lytham Road. Register at ualc.org/prek. Community Garden is Growing

The Community Garden at Mill Run supplies fresh produce for individuals and families through many partnerships in the surrounding area. Join us for weekly work parties. We’d love to add you to our weekly emails and keep you updated on what’s happening in the garden. No experience needed and all ages welcome. Saturdays starting at 9:00 am, Mill Run, or Wednesdays starting at 6:00 pm. Find more information at ualc.org/garden.

20-Somethings Small Group

Faith of Our Fathers Study Group

Adult Sunday School

Help for Healing

Celebrate Recovery is a Christian 12-Step pro-gram which focuses on healing our Hurts, Habits, and Hang-ups. Our meeting includes a praise and worship time, a testimony or teaching and gender specific small groups. Thursdays, 7:00 pm at Lytham Road. Details at ualc.org/celebraterecovery.

Donate to the Clothes Closet Ministry

We are still accepting gently used linens, clothes, shoes and accessories. The clothes are being sent to Salvation Army, Southeast Ohio - HARP (Helping Appalachian Rural People) and New Life Lutheran church in Gallipolis. Drop off bins located at Mill Run and Lytham Road. Community Bible Study and Prayer Group

This in-depth, inter-denominational, adult Bible Study provides a combination of personal study, small-group discussion with prayer and large-group wrap up as we study the Gospel of Luke.
