Mill Run Worship Schedule Update

At the Sept. 30 congregational meeting, Pastor Steve’s report included information about where we’re going as a congregation. In particular, he shared some vision for where we’re going in our worship life together. In case you missed the meeting, we have emailed and/or mailed this information to you. All Saints’ Remembrance Cards

On All Saints’ Sunday, Nov. 4, we remember those who have died in Christ and live forever in Heaven as the names of  the departed saints will be read during worship. To submit a name to be read at the service you attend, please complete a card, available at the reception desks beginning Oct. 14, and return it by 5:00 pm Monday, Oct. 29.
 

A Season for Giving

It might seem early to be thinking about Christmas, but many UALC mission partners are hard at work planning for needed services during the holiday season. Donations can be dropped off at the Connect Centers at Lytham Road and Mill Run. Details at ualc.org/seasongiving.
 

“Grands” Welcomes New Members

If  you are a grandparent and would like to meet with others, you are invited to join the “Grands” (formerly Grandparent Group) to encourage one another in our role as grandparents striving to leave a legacy of  faith. Renewing the Mind Class

Discover Your Spiritual Gifts

Colossians: Front Stage with God

This is an interdenominational, in-depth Bible study open to any adult in the community. Colossians is the second in a series of four studies in which we watch God inviting everyday people into eternal epic pursuits beyond their imaginations! Miss making music? Join Handbells!

No prior handbell experience is needed. The ensemble meets weekly on Tuesday nights from 7:00-8:00 pm in the Lytham Road Choir Room. Anyone high school aged or older is welcome to come and learn how to ring, refresh your music reading skills, and spend time praising the Lord with ringing! Questions? 3,800 Dozen Cookies Needed 

Kairos weekend #15 at London Correctional Institution needs cookies to represent the unconditional love of  Jesus Christ and present to inmates and staff. Cookies need to be home-baked, (chocolate chip preferred and pre-made cookie dough is ok), prayed over and packed one-dozen per resealable bag. Food Distribution to Those in Need

Serve those in need by filling orders for non-perishable food items, assist shoppers with the selection of  fresh produce and meat items, make Christian material available and be alert for opportunities to pray with shoppers. Contact Tom Andres by calling the front desk, 614-451-3736. 
 

Full Family ESL Program

A full family educational program where each international family member is taking steps out of poverty through education, especially in English. Volunteers are needed to work with all ages. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00-8:30 pm at Mill Run. Contact Dave Mann, dmann@ualc.org.

Discipleship at this age of important decisions and independence is full of big questions. We offer summer and school year opportunities to be discipled one-on-one or in small groups by an adult who will encourage you in your next steps of life and faith. Parent to Parent – HS and MS

This is an opportunity for parents to get together and discuss the joys and challenges of  parenting at this stage of  life. Participate in a discussion with parents who’ve “been there.” A variety of  topics will be covered based on parent input. Four stand-alone meetings will be held throughout the year. Small Group Life 
Small groups are a place to make connections outside of Sunday worship. They provide opportunities to experience new relationships, practice true discipleship and simply live life together. Seven-Day Bible Art Challenge 2019

Winter Apparel, Toys and Food 
It’s not too early to be thinking about those in our community who will be in need of winter hats and gloves, holiday meals and kid’s Christmas gifts (toys, gift cards and small items for stockings). Watch for details of needed items and volunteer opportunities for the SON Ministries drive, Operation Christmas Child, Angel Tree, LSS Food Pantry and Helping Appalachian Rural People. In the event of a Care emergency outside of normal business hours, please call the main church number, 614-451-3736, press 6, and your call will be forwarded to the on-call pastor. If he is unable to answer at that time, please leave a message and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
